SUMMER 2008

Dear Members

Welcome to our summer newsletter,

Firstly it is with much regret that after many years of service Carole Read and Sheena Duckworth have resigned from the committee. We the committee on behalf of all members would like to say a big heartfelt thanks to both for all their years of hard work.

So far this year as a club we are having a very successful year. We sent two teams to the area qualifiers for show jumping at St Leonards and did very well results under team news. Also our junior cross country team went to Aston Le Walls in Warwickshire for the ‘Festival of the Hunter’ championships, they came a very credible 12th against all the teams in Great Britain.

May we remind competitors that flu vac’s must be up to date for team events as BRC operate a zero tolerance policy. It is the rider / owner’s responsibility to make sure that the horse is up to date and within the allowed timescale any questions please ask.

We have a show jumping training evening on July 24th with Bev Trebilcock. Anyone interested please contact Julie Watts on 01726 851243. Julie would also like to know who would be interested in a flat work lesson at Barguse with Lisa Todd dates to be arranged.

Our show days are a great success and last Sunday 13th July was no exception. We had a great turn out with all classes well represented. We pride the club on being able to cater for all abilities from complete novice to experienced riders and also horse’s. We are a very friendly club and always extend a warm welcome to members and non members alike. Thanks to all who help at our show days without you we would not be such a successful club.
